Attended by policy leaders from the Health & Social Care, the group explored what the future direction of TEC could look like for the people of Wales.

A wide range of initiatives and services using TEC to deliver care and assist our workforce were discussed. These included remote monitoring of patients, mental health apps and the delivery of virtual appointments.

When asked what is needed to progress of the responses from the delegates focussed on strong leadership, national co-ordination, innovation, sharing best-practice and interoperability.

Consultations with services and the public will be held over 2020 to understand the challenges and priorities for TEC. This will be enhanced by reaching out and collaborating with partners internationally, the industry and academia.

The workshop, which was arranged by Gareth Cross, Head of Healthcare Technology and Innovation at Welsh Government said “The workshop was an excellent opportunity, bringing together expertise across areas of Health and Social Care. All of the attendees were excited at the opportunity to be part of transforming the way some services can be delivered for the citizens of Wales”.
