Chaired by Allan Wardhaugh, Chief Clinical Information Officer at Cardiff & Vale UHB, we will hear from:

  • Keith Hawkins, Lead Specialist (Information) at NWIS, on the rapid development of their COVID Data Hub.
  • Somerset NHS Foundation Trust to hear how they created, tested, deployed and iterated a full end-to-end COVID response service with a data platform led approach.
  • Rich Fry, Senior Lecturer at Swansea University, discussing how SAIL has been used to inform the Welsh Government response to COVID-19 using linked data. Plus, the development of high resolution mapping using the ZOE symptom tracker data which has informed Welsh and Scottish Government policy throughout the pandemic.
  • Alisha Davies, Head of Research and Development at Public Health Wales will present on the Networked Data Lab in Wales, which is one of five of The Health Foundation's Networked Data Labs across the UK. The Lab will provide national and local health system leaders with insights from data to take action in order to improve the UK’s health and care.
