ITEC represents Innovation, Integration and Improvement using Technology Enabled Care, and the TSA ITEC Award highlights organisations both in the UK and overseas that are doing the most to deliver significant benefits for users, carers and communities, as well as for commissioners and providers.

TEC Cymru is delighted to have been shortlisted among over 60 entrants in the Transformation category, celebrating and applauding services that have planned and implemented major transformation across their organisation with a proactive and preventative approach.

Having originally planned to roll-out Video Consulting (VC) to GPs over 12 months, TEC Cymru was asked by the Welsh Government in March 2020 to accelerate its plans – making VC available as a top priority to 405 GP practices within 12 weeks. The organisation has delivered significant transformation through the urgently up scaled provision of safe, secure and ongoing access to NHS and care services following the significant challenge presented by the outbreak of Covid-19.

Sara Khalil, TEC Cymru’s Programme Lead said:

“We are very pleased that the efficient and skilled operations of the team have been recognised at these prestigious awards. The roll-out of VC has been hugely successful and continues to transform across Primary, Secondary and Tertiary care. Within six months of commissioning over 40,000 consultations have taken place. To date this figure is around 300,000 –within less than two years. We wish all entrants the best of luck and look forward to the TSA ITEC Award ceremony.”

The awards will be announced at this year’s ITEC conference on the evening of the 28 March 2022 at the ICC Birmingham.
